Meet the Directors
Ron Carpenter
Ron Carpenter is the longest standing director of our bank, joining the board in 1984. Ron graduated from the University of Florida and UF's law school and has practiced law in Gainesville for many years. Ron is a former Chairman of the State of Florida Board of Bar Examiners and a trustee for Santa Fe Community College.
Carl Ellspermann
Carl Ellspermann is a graduate of the University of Florida and received his MBA in Accounting in 1972. Carl is a partner in the CPA firm of Ellspermann and Harris. Carl has served as Chairman of the Marion County Hospital District Trustees, Chairman of the Marion County Housing Finance Authority, and as a member of the Coalition for Affordable Housing Board of Directors.
James Salter
James Salter, has been practicing law in Gainesville since graduating from the University of Florida's Law School in 1961. He is a senior partner in the Salter, Feiber, Murphy, Hutson & Menet law firm. He serves on the Board of Directors of Santa Fe Community College Endowment Corporation, a member of UF's Classic 89 Radio Station Advisory Board and a Member of both the American Bar Association and Florida Bar Association. He is a former member of the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Florida Bar. His hobbies include work, snow skiing and fishing. He is married with two sons and two grandchildren.
Mike Ryals
Mike Ryals began his Real Estate career in 1978. He later owned and operated his own company in the 80's until it was acquired by Bosshardt Realty. A former "Realtor of the Year", and currently one of the areas top commercial brokers, Mike has continued with Bosshardt Realty since and is currently a Senior Vice President heading up their Commercial and Land Division. He has reinvested significantly in the Gainesville Community through involvement in such organizations as Oak Hall School, Alachua County Boys Club, Gainesville Alachua County Association of Realtors, and the Gainesville Community Foundation. Mike's hobbies include surfing, tennis, golf and spending time with family and friends.
Ken Kirkpatrick
Ken Kirkpatrick is a Florida native who received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1991. Ken is a partner in Sonny's Bar-B-Que with locations in Jacksonville, Lake City, Ocala and Belleview. He is also President and owner of Heritage Management Corporation, a commercial and residential property management company located in Ocala, Florida. In his free time Ken enjoys playing golf, racing go-karts and other outdoor activities with his wife Suzanne and their three children. Ken is involved in various community organizations.
Tom Mallini
Tom Mallini is the President and CEO of M&S Bank. He is a career banker having begun his career with the C&S National Bank in Georgia in 1973. In 1985 he moved to Gainesville and joined M&S Bank as CEO. Since that time he has been very active in the Gainesville Community as well as the banking industry statewide. Tom has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Independent Bankers Bank of Florida and has held numerous leadership positions with the Florida Bankers Association.
Tom Robinson
Tom Robinson, Chairman of the M&S Bank Board of Directors and owner of Robinshore Inc., is a Gainesville native. He has been building and developing real estate in Gainesville since 1977. Tom has served on numerous industry and community boards and is a Past President of the North Central Florida Builders Association. Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Jean and their children, Katie and Matt.
Bob Rowe
Bob Rowe is a native of Gainesville and has been a Realtor and developer here for most of his adult life. Most recently Bob has developed the highly successful award winning Haile Plantation. Over the years Bob has served in leadership roles for almost every community activity and organization including trustee for Santa Fe Community College, President Chamber of Commerce, President of the Gainesville Board of Realtors, and the leader of the Performing Arts Centers development.
Breck Weingart
Breck Weingart, a Gainesville resident since 1970, is co-owner of Charles Perry Construction and PPI Construction Management. Breck received his bachelor's degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida in 1980. He has been involved in commercial building construction in the Gainesville area since 1983. He is currently serving on the SFCC Endowment Board, SFCC Board of Trustees, Builders Association of North Central Florida Board, and UF Executive Advisory Council for the School of Building Construction.
Dale Barron

Dale Barron, GRI, CRB is the CEO of Coldwell Banker Ellison Realty located in Ocala. Dale trained as a helicopter pilot in the Army and currently is a volunteer helicopter pilot for the Marion County Sheriff's Department. He is active in the Ocala/Marion County Economic Development Council, the Sunset Rotary Club and the First United Methodist Church. Dale and his wife Nancy have four children.

Breck Weingart
Thomas McIntosh is co-owner of ERA Trend Realty. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Builder's Association of North Central Florida.  He also serves on the National Advisory Council for the ERA Franchise Systems. He has actively volunteered in many community organizations for more than twenty years.
Dale Barron
Debbie MacLeod Berdy, Chairman and owner of Contemporary Management Concepts since 1978 which now employees 160 and Florida Container Rental since 1986.  Debbie's business includes multi-family fee management and consulting in Gainesville, Ocala and Orlando. She was recently awarded, by the City of Gainesville, for her development of Nantucket Walk, a 41 unit condominium development.  Debbie is a native of Gainesville and enjoys spending her time boating, horseback riding, fishing, quail hunting and being with family and friends.
