M&S Bank Is Pleased to Offer the Convenience of Check Imaging
M&S Bank monthly statements now feature this service at no extra charge. The technical term for the service is "Check Imaging". Thanks to a new technology, we will scan the front and back of your original checks into our computer system and permanently store them on optical disk. The image becomes a permanent document, and can be reproduced at any time. This system represents a vast improvement over the traditional microfilm used to store your records at the bank over the last quarter century. The shelf life of optical disks is "permanent".
You will no longer have to sort your own checks. When monthly statements are prepared, our system will gather all of your newly imaged checks for the month, organize them by check number, and neatly print the fronts of them out on 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper for easy storage in a standard three ring binder. These check printouts (images) will be included with monthly checking statements instead of the original paper checks.
We have always been committed to bringing you the best in customer service. Employing current technology is a part of that continuing effort. The check imaging system allows us to offer you improved service, at no additional charge, enhancing many aspects of your account. You will find we can service your needs faster and more efficiently. There is no charge. This is a free service for all M&S Bank customers who receive checks back with their statements. Customers having "check safekeeping" may request that their accounts be changed to one of several types to benefit from check imaging.
What customers will be receiving with monthly statements is an exact imaged reproduction of the front of your original check. Larger check images are available for the visually impaired. If a business need requires that you receive pictures of the backs of your checks, you may request it. Imaged checks are fully accepted by the IRS and all courts of law. Plus, if you need an image of the front or back of any item, we can provide it much faster than ever before. We can enlarge imaged items for ease of signature and endorsement verification. In fact, due to quality and clarity, an imaged check is preferred over microfilm copies for proof of payment.
M&S Bank is pleased to offer our Image Statement CD-ROM Service
 This space saver solution is the productivity tool for business owners, financial managers, auditors, and others. On the CD you'll receive copies of statements, and images of all paper-item debits (showing the front and back). You can search for and print a particular item's image from this CD. You can also get statements and images for multiple checking accounts on one CD.
You have the option of getting one month's information on a CD, or 12 months of information on a CD. The fee schedule for this service is shown below. CD-ROM's are available for Checking Accounts only.
* Enrollment for Image Statement CD-ROM during fourth quarter requires annual fee.
** Note: Monthly CD-ROMs carry all images year-to-date.
(Meaning there would be no need to purchase an "annual CD" in addition.)
